Le "CHAUSSON D'OR", INTERNATIONAL CLASSICAL BALLET COMPETITION, for dancers of all nationalities,

| Registration and rehearsal on stage will take place on the afternoon of FRIDAY 3rd APRIL 2009 | |
| The competition takes place at the following address : | |

| Stage : 13 meters by 10 meters (not sloped) | |
|
THE COMPETITION IS PERFORMED IN FRONT OF A PUBLIC AUDIENCE. |

| ARTICLE II | |
|
LEVELS |
|
|
Candidates are divided into 5 levels according to their age : |
|
| PREPARATOIRE : | 8 and 9 years old candidates (not yet 10 on the day of the finals). |
| ETUDE A and B : | 10 and 11 years old candidates (not yet 12 on the day of the finals). |
| ESPOIR : | 12 and 13 years old candidates (not yet 14 on the day of the finals). |
| SUPERIEUR : | 14 and 15 years old candidates (not yet 16 on the day of the finals). |
| PROFESSIONNEL : | 16 to 21 years old candidates (not yet 22 on the day of the finals). |
| Exceptions may be granted on written demand. | |
| ARTICLE III |
| PERFORMANCES |
|
All candidates must be present at the time and place indicated on their confirmation letter and bring with them identification card or passport and their photo. |
|
The competition has 2 rounds : ELIMINATIONS and FINALS |
|
The performance is on pointe shoes for girls of all levels except for PREPARATOIRE,
ETUDE A and Adage ESPOIR.
|
| Candidates must prepare the following variations : |
| PREPARATOIRE : | 1 free variation (max 1,45 min) |
| ETUDE : | 1 free variation (max 1,50 min) | Etude A: variation | Etude B: variation on pointe shoes |
| ESPOIR : | 1 free variation (max 2,00 min) | 1 adage variation on demi-pointes (max 1,50 min) |
| SUPERIEUR : | 1 variation from the Répertoire | Or 1 free variation (max 2,00 minutes) | And 1 adage variation (max 2,00 minutes) |
| PROFESSIONNEL : | 2 variations from the Répertoire | Or 1 variation from the Répertoire | And 1 free variation (max 2,15 minutes) |
| Teachers can use the same variation for several candidates. |
| FREE VARIATIONS AND ADAGES MUST BE BASED ON BALLET TECHNIQUE. |
| Variations from the Répertoire are only allowed for levels SUPERIEUR and PROFESSIONNEL. |
| ARTICLE IV | |
| DANCE WEAR | |
| GIRLS ELIMINATIONS : | Light-coloured, sleeveless leotards, short skirts are allowed (no costume). |
| BOYS ELIMINATIONS : | White T-shirt, black or grey tights. |
|
GIRLS - BOYS FINALS :
|
Stage costumes for the variations. For the adage, light-coloured, sleeveless leotards, short skirts for the girls, white T-shirt, black or grey tights for the boys. |
N.B. : Filming and photographs are strictly forbidden. | |
| All competitors agree that any photos or films taken during the competition may be used by Le CHAUSSON D'OR and/or its partners |

ARTICLE V |
|
|
ROUNDS |
|
| PREPARATOIRE and ETUDE : | Same variation for eliminations and finals. |
| ESPOIR : | Free variation for eliminations, two variations - adage first - for the finals. |
| SUPERIEUR : | Free variation or Répertoire variation for eliminations - adage first, then same variation as for the eliminations for the finals. |
| PROFESSIONNEL : | Répertoire variation or free variation for the eliminations and both variations for the finals. |

ARTICLE VI |
|
Répertoire variations for SUPERIEUR and PROFESSIONNEL levels must be chosen amongst the Classical Ballet Répertoire, and conform to one of the original versions. |
|
ARTICLE VII |
| Candidates must bring one CD per variation with the music for each variation. |
|
Please note on the CD :
your first name, last name, level and type of variation (Free, Adage, Répertoire).
Important note :do not use a CD RW. |
| For the PROFESSIONNEL level, please indicate the Répertoire variation or the Free variation that you are performing for the eliminations. |
| It is strongly recommended to bring a copy of your CDs in case of problem. Forgotten CDs will be considered lost. |

ARTICLE VIII |
|
Candidates who have been previously awarded the "Grand Prix du Chausson d'Or" must present themselves in the level above their previous level. |
| Candidates who have been previously awarded a "Chausson d'Or" can stay in the category suited to their age. |
|
ARTICLE IX |
|
NOTES
|
| Final scoring results from adding the points from each performance. |
| Only one note is given to the PREPARATOIRE level. |
|
ORDER OF APPEARANCE : |
| By alphabetical order, after drawing of the first letter. |
|
ARTICLE X |
|
THE JURY
|
| Professionals from the artistic sector will judge the "Prix Artistique" award. |
| The jury is free and the only body responsible for judging the competition and its decisions are without recourse.. |
|
Please refrain from clapping during or at the end of performances. |
|

| DEUXIEME PRIX CHAUSSON D'ARGENT : | 300 Euros |
| TROISIEME PRIX CHAUSSON DE BRONZE : | 200 Euros |
| SUPERIEUR and ESPOIR | |
| PREMIER PRIX CHAUSSON D'OR : | 300 Euros |
| DEUXIEME PRIX CHAUSSON D'ARGENT : | 200 Euros |
| TROISIEME PRIX CHAUSSON DE BRONZE : | 150 Euros |

The jury can decide whether or not to give awards. |
|
ARTICLE XII |
|
APPLICATION |
|
Candidates wishing to apply to enter the COMPETITION must return the completed and signed application form before the 25th March 2009. along with a photocopy of their identification card or passport. |
|
The application fee of 50 Euros is payable by cheque when applying or by cash when registering on the Friday.
|
|
The Competition committee will not be held responsible for any physical injury caused to any person or by any person, including candidates and their relatives or coaches during the competition in or outside the locale. |

Candidates do not need to purchase tickets and will have free entry on presentation of their badge
(which they will receive on registration on the Friday 4th April). |
